The itinerary begins in the Posta Fibreno Lake Nature Reserve, a protected area that covers 345 hectares and preserves a unique ecosystem. A scenic trail allows visitors to admire the lush vegetation, consisting of reeds, meadows and submerged forests and to observe the ancient “peschere” used to preserve the catch.
Continuing along the Fibreno Valley, one reaches the Lungofibreno Tremoletto Natural Monument, a wetland area of great geological and archaeological interest. Here, visitors can admire the flooded meadows and reed beds that are home to numerous waterfowl.
The final stage of the itinerary leads to the 'Giustiniano Nicolucci' River Park in Isola del Liri, an evocative trail that winds between history and nature. The trail starts from Roma Bridge and crosses the green area of the Municipal Library, then enters the machinery of the old factories and overlooks the Valcatoio Waterfall.
