Cascata Grande and Eustacchio Pisani Gallery

The Cascata Grande, formed by the left branch of the river, is about 27 meters high and is one of the few waterfalls in the world located in the historic center of a city.

The historic center of Isola del Liri is built on an island formed by the Liri River. At the Boncompagni Viscogliosi Castle, the river splits into two branches, each forming a waterfall with a drop of approximately 30 meters: the Cascata Grande (Vertical Waterfall) and the Valcatoio Waterfall. 

To the right of the waterfall stand the Town Hall and the former Ippolito & Pisani felt factory. The latter factory building is crossed by the Eustacchio Pisani Gallery, which, on open days, allows visitors to walk through and reach a panoramic terrace located just below the waterfall. The gallery frequently hosts art and photography exhibitions.
